When I say this wedding was straight out of a period drama, I am not exaggerating. If Lady Whistledown herself had been in attendance, she would have had plenty to write about. Picture a stunning English estate, rich, deep purple florals in full bloom, and a love story that could rival even the grandest romances of the season. Marie & Jon’s wedding at Hutton Hall was nothing short of breathtaking—classic, elegant, and with just the right amount of Regency-era charm.

A Venue Fit for High Society
Nestled in the heart of Brentwood, Hutton Hall set the perfect stage for Marie & Jon’s most important day. The gardens were nothing short of spectacular, bursting with deep, dramatic purple florals in every direction. Delphiniums, clematis, and velvety-hued roses created the most striking contrast against the lush greenery, making the entire setting feel as if it had been lifted straight from the pages of a grand love story. With such a stunning backdrop, it was impossible to take a bad photo—every moment was pure magic.

A Most Stylish Wedding Party
The morning began with a sense of over whelming calm. Marie opted for a quiet, private start to her day, savouring a few peaceful moments before stepping into the whirlwind of celebrations. While she took her time upstairs, I spent the morning capturing candid moments with Jon and his groomsmen downstairs. The atmosphere was relaxed, filled with laughter, and a few last-minute tie adjustments—because even the most dashing of gentlemen need a little help now and then.

A Ceremony of Pure Elegance
As guests gathered, they were welcomed into one of the most breathtaking ceremony spaces I’ve ever seen. The pastel blue room, adorned with intricate white moulding, exuded timeless sophistication. Floral details were woven into every corner—delicate floral arrangements, soft petals framing the aisle, and the perfect blend of classic romance meeting modern refinement. It was the kind of setting that would make even the most seasoned society lady swoon.
Then, the moment everyone was waiting for—Marie’s entrance. She was radiant, her dress the perfect blend of timeless romance and effortless sophistication. Delicate lace detailing and a flowing train trailed behind her as she walked down the aisle, her eyes locked on Jon, who, let’s be honest, looked utterly smitten. If Queen Charlotte had been in attendance, she would have surely named Marie the diamond of the season.

A Grand Celebration Begins
As Marie and Jon stepped out as newlyweds, they were greeted with a joyful flurry of confetti—an explosion of petals and smiles that set the perfect tone for the celebrations ahead. The energy was electric, the cheers loud, and the love in the air was obvious. With the ceremony finished it was time for everyone to relax, sip on delicious cocktails, and soak in the beautiful sunny day.
Guests mingled in the gorgeous gardens as they admired the breathtaking surroundings, the deep purple florals created the most luxurious backdrop for cocktail hour. Meanwhile, Marie and Jon took a moment just for themselves, escaping the crowd for a stroll through the gardens and of course a few photos along the way.
last but not least we can't forget the bridal party! Maries's bridesmaids were wearing pastel purple dresses and they looked every bit the picture of Regency-era grace (modernised, of course). Their elegant dresses stood out beautifully against the rich, darker purples the gardens, creating an effortlessly regal aesthetic. The groomsmen, looking sharp in their tailored suits, stood with all the confidence of a Bridgerton brother preparing for a duel—though thankfully, the only hearts stolen that day were Jon’s.

A Celebration Fit for a Ball
The reception was everything you'd expect having seen the beauty of the rest of the day: elegant table settings, towering floral centrepieces and colourful glass bookmarks made by Marie's mum on every place setting, transformed the space. Guests toasted to the newlyweds, with plenty of laughter, heartfelt speeches, and maybe even a few scandalous dance moves that Lady Danbury would have thoroughly enjoyed.
Speaking of dancing, the floor was alive with energy. Whether it was a romantic first dance or a modern take on a Regency ball, the atmosphere was pure joy. While there may not have been a live string quartet performing orchestral versions of pop songs (a Netflix-worthy touch, if you ask me), the energy in the room was unmatched.

Golden Hour Perfection
Before the sun dipped below the horizon, we stole away for a few golden hour portraits—one of my absolute favourite parts of any wedding day. That soft, golden light wrapped around Marie & Jon like something out of a romance novel, casting everything in the most beautiful, romantic glow. As they strolled hand in hand through the gardens, sharing quiet moments just between the two of them, I quietly captured them from a distance. These are the kind of moments I love to capture—the ones that feel the most real and authentic, because they are!

Happily Ever After
As the evening drew to a close and Marie & Jon stepped into their new life together, one thing was certain—this was a wedding that no one in attendance would soon forget. A day filled with elegance, romance, and just the right amount of Regency-inspired grandeur.
Marie & Jon, your wedding was an absolute dream, and I’m so grateful to have captured every moment. For any couples dreaming of a day that feels like it belongs in the pages of a Bridgerton love story—grand estates, floral-filled gardens, and golden hour magic included—I’d love to be there to document it all.
Until the next grand affair…
