There are some weddings that just glow—filled with love, colour, and the kind of joy that lingers long after the last sparkler has burned out. Paris and James’ wedding at Micklefield Hall was exactly that. A celebration of two cultures, bursting with emotion, and set against one of my absolute favourite venues (where I’m lucky enough to be a recommended supplier!). From the moment I arrived, I knew this day was going to be something special.

I started the day by capturing Paris’ details—everything from her dress and garter to an emotional card from her Mumma. I always love doing this first, as it allows everyone to get used to me and my cameras while giving the makeup artists more time to work their magic.

Paris got ready in the stunning bridal suite at Micklefield Hall, a space that is not only beautifully spacious but also features gorgeous natural light pockets—perfect for the hair and makeup team and for me to capture those all-important getting-ready shots. The morning was filled with a perfect blend of calm, quiet moments and fun, giggles, champagne-fueled excitement, all thanks to her incredible bridesmaids.

Once Paris was ready and we had captured the must-have toast photo with all 15 of her bridesmaids, it was time for her to step into her dress. It was an incredibly emotional moment—Paris, her sister, and her Mumma were all in tears (happy ones, of course!).
Then came one of my favourite moments of the morning—the father-of-the-bride reveal. The second Paris’ dad saw her, the tears started flowing again (from both of them!), and it was such a heartfelt and beautiful moment. Huge credit to the makeup team because Paris’ face still looked absolutely flawless despite all the happy tears!

Once Paris was all ready, I headed over to the temple to get some snaps of James and his 11 groomsmen. Whenever there is time I also love taking individual shots of the groom with each member of his wedding party at this point—because let’s be real, men are notoriously bad at getting photos together, so what better time than the wedding day itself?

Nestled in the Hertfordshire countryside, Micklefield Hall is one of those venues that feels straight out of a fairytale. The stunning outdoor temple, overlooking a serene lake, is one of the most magical ceremony spots you could ask for. The venue itself is a perfect blend of historic charm and elegant modern touches—from the breathtaking Great Barn to the picture-perfect gardens, every corner is a dream to photograph. It’s no secret that Micklefield Hall is one of my favourite venues to shoot at. Every wedding here feels intimate, unique, and effortlessly beautiful. And Paris & James’ day was no exception!

Let’s talk about the bridesmaids—all 15 of them! Dressed in a stunning sunset-coloured palette, they brought warmth and vibrancy to the day, a perfect match for the summer setting. The mix of rich oranges, deep reds, and soft peaches created the most incredible colour story, making every photo pop with energy and elegance.

These next two photos are why I ALWAYS recommend a second photographer! Whist I was over the other side of the lake my second captured these incredible images of Paris and her dad having an emotional moment before they reached the guests.

After saying "I do," Paris and James walked through the most beautiful confetti tunnel, showered in delicate white paper confetti, making for some absolutely stunning and joy-filled photos. Seeing their guests cheer and celebrate as the confetti floated through the air was such a heartwarming moment.

Paris and James chose to have a two-hour-long cocktail hour, giving them plenty of time to soak up the excitement, share laughs with loved ones, and truly be present in the moment. With the sun casting a golden glow over the gardens, guests sipped on cocktails, enjoyed lighthearted conversations, and embraced the relaxed, joyful atmosphere—it was the perfect way to ease into the evening celebrations.

After some relaxed group photos, we headed back down to the temple for some epic bridal party photos, there were so many of them all together it was a challenge to fit them all in!

Once the group photo were all wrapped up Paris, James and I took 10-15 minutes to capture their couples portraits around the stunning grounds of Micklefield Hall.
I always like to focus on prompts, not stiff poses, to create natural and genuine moments. I’ll put my couples into a subtle movement or position and then give a fun prompt—like “Draw a figure of 8 on Paris’s cheek with your nose” or “Whisper what you had for breakfast in the sexiest voice you can.” The result? Authentic laughter, real connection, and the most beautiful, effortless photos.

As guests made their way into the barn for the wedding breakfast, they were greeted by an explosion of colourful decor, featuring mini tuk-tuks and tambourines, setting the perfect tone for the lively energy that was still to come. Every detail felt fun, personal, and full of character—just like Paris and James themselves.

The speeches were an emotional rollercoaster, filled with heartfelt words, laughter, and plenty of tears. A particularly special moment came when Paris’ sister became so overwhelmed with emotion that James got up to help her through it, it was one of those moments that left not a single dry eye in the room!

And of course, once the speeches were done, it was time for the cake cutting, marking the start of an unforgettable evening celebration.

As the evening arrived, the entire wedding party changed into stunning traditional outfits—including James, who embraced his new family’s culture so beautifully. Seeing everyone come together in such a joyful and heartfelt way was truly special.

And then there was the dance floor. Let me tell you—this wasn’t just a party, it was a celebration. High-energy moments of pure, uninhibited joy, the evening was alive with love and laughter.

To top it all off? A breathtaking sparkler tunnel, where Paris & James walked hand in hand, surrounded by all their favourite people, lighting up the night just as they had lit up the entire day.
